The building affected by a helicopter crash that took the lives of all three onboard around the Ikeja axis of Lagos State is currently under repairs by the Lagos State Government.

This development comes barely a day after the state governor visited the scene of the accident. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu committed to inspecting buildings within a 100-mile radius of the crash for integrity testing and hopes for normalcy to return as soon as possible.

Thankfully, the helicopter crashed on the fence and as such did not affect the elderly in the building. Read the governor’s statements below

“The affected buildings are residential homes that have citizens living there. As at the exact time the helicopter crash happened, a lot of people were not on the premises and even the elderly people that were around and in their rooms.

“Tests will be conducted to understand the integrity of the buildings and once that is ascertained today or tomorrow, we will start work with the federal agencies.

“We will start the reconstruction and renovation of the places affected by the crash; the rooms, walls, tents and ensure that we quickly bring respite to the senior citizens that have been affected,”
