England’s women national team have confirmed their first friendly game since the COVID-19 pandemic and will travel to Germany to take the two-time world champions on Tuesday, 27 October at the Brita-Arena in Wiesbaden.
The lionesses last played an international game in March in the SheBelieves Cup in America. England was last beaten by the former world cup champions last November in Wembley.
The match will be played behind closed doors, as a result of the global pandemic. The friendly game in Germany will mark the beginning of Neville’s final year in charge of the women’s national team, as he will be succeeded by Netherlands women’s head coach Sarina Wiegman in September 2021.
