The Nigerian Air Force operation Hail Storm has continued its offensive against Boko Haram terrorist elements and those belonging to terror group “The Islamic State of West Africa Province ISWAP” in Borno state
The Operation, which is a subsidiary of the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole says it has successfully neutralized some ISWAP Commanders and knocked out their logistics facilities at Bukar Meram on the fringes of the Lake Chad and at Dole, a settlement in the Southern part of Borno State
The coordinator of the Defence Media Operation Major General John Enenche says the attacks followed credible intelligence reports which revealed a resurgence of terrorists’ activities within the two settlements, following the relocation of the terrorists from nearby settlements.
General Enenche adds that the ISWAP logistics hub linking other Island settlements of the Lake Chad known as Bukar Meram was also attacked by Air Force fighter jets and helicopter gunships, hitting targets, neutralizing scores of fighters and leaving the remnants in disarray
He says no fewer than 20 terrorists in the area were taken out by the Air Force attack aircraft.
