Troops of the Operation Safe Haven, OPSH, of the Nigerian Army deployed at Bisichi Area Command of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area in Plateau state, Northcentral Nigeria have rearrested another escaped Prisoner, Adam Yusuf, one of the six notorious inmates that escaped at High Court Barkin Ladi on July 23, 2020.
According to OPSH Commander, Maj. Gen. Chukwuemeka Okonkwo, the latest arrest was made in an abandoned house at Bisichi Village of Barkin Ladi Plateau State on Tuesday.
It would be recalled that the OPSH, following a manhunt operation that was launched, had earlier rearrested Mohammed Ibrahim, one of the escapees, and had since handed him over to the Nigerian Correctional Service Plateau State, bringing the total rearrested fugitives to two.
The Commander stated that the 19-year-old inmate has confessed to being among the escapees, stressing that concerted efforts are ongoing to rearrest others while soliciting for vital information from members of the general public that could lead to the rearrest of the remaining inmates.
