Ugandan Presidential hopeful, Robert Kyagulanyi, famously known as Bobi Wine, is facing new scrutiny over certain discrepancies in his school certificate records which are “peculiar” according to a lawyer, Hassan Male Mabirizi.
The petition, written on August 10, cast doubt on the veracity of Bobi Wine’s credentials in tandem with Bobi Wine’s age at the set dates of his records. Read his statements below
“Bobi Wine’s academic details available at the parliament website indicate that he was born in 1982 and sat A-level in 1998. This means that if he was born in 1982, he sat A-level at 16-years, O-level at 13-years and PLE at 9-years and started his educational journey at 2-years only which is peculiar,”
Mabirizi argues.
Though several attempts to reach the popular musician and activist, Bobi Wine proved abortive, the National Unity Platform (NUP) has labelled Mabirizi a busy body, while another lawyer has opined that indeed, Mabirizi has a right to request public information on Bobi Wine’s certificate.
The case now pends at the Supreme Court.
The same Mabirizi had in time past dragged his father to court for defaulting on a loan he had advanced to him
