The Women’s community shield is set to return for the first time since 2008. The English FA Football Association is expected to make a final decision ahead of an expected announcement later this week.

Manchester City and Chelsea will also play before the Men’s final on August 29, for the first time in twelve years at the Wembley stadium.

This has since been formed into a single entity to become “Breast Cancer Now”, United Kingdom’s largest breast cancer research charity, with the first Women’s Charity Shield kicking off the following season with the FA Women’s Community Shield.

With this in place, the FA has announced that the schedule for the 2020/21 Women’s FA Cup campaign will kick off on Sunday, September 6 with an extra preliminary round and the final scheduled for Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Wembley Stadium, as the WSL and Championship Clubs will not take part until the fourth-round.

The draw for the extra preliminary round and preliminary rounds will be announced on Friday, August 21.
