#RevolutionNow protests end abruptly as police disperse them in Abuja and Lagos

The #RevolutionNow protest that took place in some parts of Lagos and Abuja has been disbanded by members of the force earlier today. The protesters led by the Convener, Omoyele Sowore were met with Security Agents deployed to keep semblance in the state.

Many of the protesters expressed their dissatisfaction with the heightened levels of insecurity across the nation, citing Southern Kaduna, the most recent killings in the region and the rate of poverty and corruption ongoing in the society.

Omoyele Sowore is still entwined in a legal confrontation and is currently on bail while his case continues at the judiciary duly represented by SAN Femi Falana.

The planned protest by #RevolutionNow group scheduled for today Aug 5 from 0800hrs. Convergence points were National Stadium Surulere, Empire Jibowu, Walter Carrington Way VI, Muri Okunola Park VI, Falomo under the Bridge Ikoyi, Abiola Gardens Ojota, Ikeja under Bridge, Allen Roundabout Ikeja, Kudirat Abiola Garden by 7up, Agege Stadium and Iyana Ipaja under Bridge.

The protesters were however not seen observing social distancing during the protests although some of them were seen to have adorned face masks. There is a currentl level of worry over their action and the possible consequences by their action for the rest of the populace.
