The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed 17 new Covid-19 deaths in the country. This is one of the highest numbers of fatalities to be recorded in a day in recent times with the national death toll now 927.
Meanwhile, there are 457 new Covid-19 cases reported in 21 states. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 44,890.
The new Covid-19 infections have been recorded in Lagos-137; FCT-76; Plateau-40; Rivers-35; Enugu-34; Oyo-25; Abia-23; Delta-12; Edo and Ebonyi-11 each.
The other states are Cross River and Kwara-10 each; Kaduna-9; Anambra-7; Ogun-5; Imo and Bauchi-3 each; Osun and Nasarawa-2 each; Kano and Ekiti-1 each.
There are 314 Covid-19 patients discharged across Nigeria bringing the total number of successfully treated cases to 32,165.
