On the 4th of August 2020, Fulham Football Club secured promotion to the English Premier League by defeating Brentford 2-1 in the play-off final.

The Cottagers now become the third and final team to be promoted from the English Football League to the English Premier League. They join Leeds United and West Brom who finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the EFL.

In their first full season under manager Scott Parker, Fulham finished 4th and secured a playoff spot. They faced tough opposition in Cardiff City at the Championship Semi-final but became victors with a 3-2 aggregated win.

The West London team were without their captain and top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic for the start of the playoff final. He was still nursing a hamstring injury which kept him out of the semifinal game against Cardiff.

However, Scott Parker set up his team in a manner which aided them in absorbing pressure while being able to counter-attack. The final went into extra time which saw Mitrovic and Knockaert introduced.

Both players created the goal-scoring chances and assists for Joe Bryan who scored two goals to propel the Lily Whites back to the Premier League after just one season away.

Fulham has now earned 150 million pounds which will help them sign quality to players to help them survive and compete in the 2020/21 Premier League season.
