The Los Angeles Lakers secured the top spot in the NBA’s Western Conference for the first time since 2010, after defeating Utah Jazz 116 to 108 points.

Anthony Davis scored 42 points as the Lakers bounced back from their defeat to the Toronto Raptors to overcome a dreadful Jazz.

Top seed Lakers will now face the number eight seed in the playoffs. This is the 20th time Davis has scored 20 points or more in the first half for the side this season since Kobe Bryant’s Lakers, who led the team to the NBA Finals and eventual champions, the last time they were top seeds in 2010.

Lakers forward LeBron James ended the game with 22 points and nine assists. In a statement, Davis said It is one of the milestones of many to get to where they want to be.
