thiago on plans to leave bayern

Spanish midfield maestro Thiago Alcantara has informed Bayern Munich of his desire to leave the club during the 2020 summer transfer window. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, chairman of Bayern Munich, has stated in a recent interview that Thiago would like a new challenge.

Rummenigge further confirmed that contract negotiations between the sporting director of the club, Hasan Salihamidzic and Thiago, broke down due to the players’ desire to move on. Thiago has one year left on his contract and is valued at £63 million.

There are already rumours linking Liverpool with the 29-year-old. He would be a great addition to the 2019/20 English Premier League Champions. A return to Barcelona is probable.

However, Arsenal fans have clamoured for their club to sign Thiago who would greatly improve the team. What does the future hold for Thiago? Only time would tell.
