Lazio’s Ciro Immobile has been in fine goalscoring form this season despite a recent goal drought. Before the winter break, Immobile had registered 30 goals in all competitions and was leading the race for the European Golden Shoe.
However, Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski went through a purple patch and is currently tied with Immobile as the duo have 34 domestic goals each.
Nevertheless, the Polish international currently has 51 goals in 43 appearances so far this season compared to Immobile’s 38 goals in 43 appearances.
The 30-year-old Italian international still has a chance to secure the European Golden Shoe on the 1st of August. Lazio plays their last league game of the season away at Napoli. Immobile needs to score one goal to clinch the European Golden Shoe.
