Athletic Football Club Bournemouth have just accepted an official bid from Manchester City for Dutch centre back Nathan Ake. The Cityzens have submitted a £41 million offer for the left-footed player.

Pep Guardiola desperately wants to strengthen his defence which let in crucial goals which cost them vital points during the recently concluded 2019/20 EPL season. With Bournemouth suffering relegation, they would need to offload big names to ease and aid their finances.

Ake is one of the most sought after defenders currently due to his versatility and efficiency. The former Chelsea academy graduate started as a defensive midfielder but moved deeper into a centre back position and can also play as a left-back.

The unexpected injury to Aymeric Laporte affected Manchester City for the better part of the season. Rodri and Fernandinho had to fill in the role while Otamendi and John Stones struggled for form during the season. Ake would provide cover for Laporte and will also be an option at left-back.
