international cycling union moved by a week

The international cycling union UCI has moved next year’s Tour de France, by a week, to avoid a clash with the men’s road race at next year’s Tokyo games.

The union said the tour which was scheduled to begin on July 2 in Copenhagen Denmark, will now begin on June 28, to the 18th of July 2021, six days before the mount Fuji road race at the Olympic games.

In a statement, the UCI said as a result of the Tokyo Olympic Games scheduled for July 23 to August 8, 2021, the dates of several events had to be changed, to avoid clashing with the road games at the Olympics.

The union also said the tour of the RideLondon-Surrey classic and California has been removed from its rescheduled calendar, consisting of 35 events.
