 The Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, Ayuba Ede, has disclosed that the killers of late Innocent Ofodile, owner of popular Chucks Supermarket in Lokoja, that was brutally murdered along the Lokoja-Abuja road, has been identified.

The Police Commissioner, who brief reporters in Lokoja, explained that on receipt of discreet information arising from kidnappings and robbery incidents on the Lokoja-Abuja highway, one Vincent Omogor was arrested and in his confession mentioned that other of his cohorts who are at large carried out the dastardly killing of Offodile.

According to Omogor, the gang carried out the killing on the order of one of his shop attendants, who complained of not being attended to when he approached him for financial assistance when his father died.

While, parading 23 other criminals, the Police Commissioner said the hoodlums were picked from different parts of the state.

He said that they were arrested for armed robberies, banditry, kidnapping, possession of illegal firearms, impersonation by wearing military camouflage to commit crimes, while others were nabbed for snatching of vehicles.

Items recovered from the hoodlums include one AK 47, seven locally fabricated pistols, one locally made Baretta pistol, one single barrel gun, ammunition, four motorcycles, three Toyota cars, and a human skull.

Ede further disclosed that the Command achieved the feat through synergy with the public who gave useful information that led to the arrest of the criminals.

He added that the Command’s new strategy of involving men of Operation Puff Adder has checkmated the activities of the kidnappers, especially on the Lokoja-Okene highway.

He commended the state government for its support, the community policing committee, Senior Special Assistants on Security across the 21 local government areas for their valuable information that helped them to achieve the results so far.
