Real Madrid has confirmed that striker Mariano Diaz has tested positive to the coronavirus. The 26-year-old has now gone into self-isolation. The former Lyon player will now be isolated in his home in Spain for seven days.

After the seven days’ isolation period, Mariano will then be tested again. Real Madrid is currently preparing for their second leg round of 16 tie against Manchester City.

Zidane’s men who just clinched the 2019/20 La Liga title currently trail 2-1 behind Manchester City in their Champions League tie.

Zidane has made it clear that every member of his squad will be needed for the next phase of the Champions League. Zizou would be looking forward to Mariano to join the squad next week once he recovers.
