The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, says 624 new Covid-19 infections have been recorded in Nigeria. This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 41,804.
The 18 states with new infections include Lagos – 212; Oyo – 69; Niger – 49; Kano and Osun – 37 each; FCT – 35; Plateau – 34; Gombe – 33; Edo and Enugu – 28 each. Others are Ebonyi – 17; Delta – 10; Katsina – 9; Ogun – 8; Rivers – 7; Ondo – 5; Kaduna – 4 and Nasarawa – 2.
There are 561 Covid-19 patients discharged across Nigeria in the last 24 hours with the number of successfully treated cases in the country now 18,764.
The figures also show that there are eight new Covid-19 fatalities reported across treatment centres in Nigeria with the national death toll rising to 868.
