The English Premier League, EPL, 2020/21 campaign is set to begin on September 12, 2020.
Usually, every EPL season kick starts in August but due to the disruption of the football calendar, the league will commence in September.
The current 2019/20 season will end on July 26, 2020. The EPL teams for the 2020/21 season will have one month to rest and have a preseason.
However, with the 2019/20 Champions League final slated for the 30th of August, if the Chelsea manage to qualify for the final, they will only have three weeks to prepare for the 2020/21 season.
The decision to commence the league in September was a decision made by the shareholders of the Premier League after a meeting which held on July 24.
Teams can now begin to prepare earnestly for the start of next season.
