Displaced people in Burkina Faso are faced with difficult times as insecurity, unrest, and downpour as the raining season draws near.

In six months, the number of displaced people in the West African country has spiked to 386,000. This majorly is a result of escalation violence which has driven people out to remote areas in search of safety.

Pissila experienced heavy rainfall in May which left tents flooded and destroyed. One of the displaced persons in the area identified as Nabonswendé disclosed the raining season would be difficult if it continues with this pattern. He lamented if his home cannot be returned to, hopefully, their tent can be prevented from flooding.

Going further, he disclosed he hopes they can return back to their homes despite the undeniable help rendered to them.

While getting clean water is already as difficult as making a horse pass through the eye of the needle, the raining season would make water dirtier and will lead to an outbreak of diseases. Residents in Bourzanga lamented.

Another problem the displaced people are faced with is the lack of enough space.

Several organizations have tried to make available and provide enough space bigger for the group including the MSF team.

According to the United Nation, Burkina Faso needs funds for more than 2.2 million people met with harsh living conditions.
