Bandits attacked Kano lawmaker representing Danbatta Constituency’s home on Sunday, July 19, with his daughter abducted.
The 17-year-old daughter identified as Juwairiyya Murtala is an SS2 student of Government Girls Secondary School. She was kidnapped in Kore village while her father was away.
According to witnesses, the incident happened around 2:00 am on said day.
According to the lawmaker, while addressing reporters following the devastating incident, he disclosed he was the target but his daughter was kidnapped following his absence in retaliation. He made known the kidnapper told his wives and children they were there to kidnap him.
Going further, he said that his door was broken down and his older brother was tied up because he was mistaken for the lawmaker. The brother is identified as Lawal Kore.
The kidnappers, since the incident, haven’t contacted the Kano lawmaker for ransom.
