Olusegun Adeniyi, former Commander of Nigerian Army’s Operation Lafiya Dole, is set to face a court-martial on Monday, July 20.

This came after a video of the former Commander surfaced complaining of poor and insufficient equipment after a launched attack by the terrorist Jihadist group left dozens of troops dead in March. As gathered, this is the reason Adeniyi would face jurisdiction.

The Major General was seen in the video with other lamenting soldiers who had just suffered launched attack with not less than 15 gun trucks by Boko Haram that left dozens of troops dead. Adeniyi also complained about intelligence failure which has left for the loss of troops.

This video broke the internet during the period and led to criticism of the Buhari administration by the masses who saw the sad state of the soldiers in the video. They criticized the Federal Government for giving false notions and impressions on war success in the nation.

The Military who didn’t react openly to the video but demoted Olusegun Adeniyi has the Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole and moved to Nigerian Army Resource Centre as “Research Fellow”.

The military allegedly allowed the controversies surrounding the viral video to die down before arranging Adeniyi to face Court Martial.

His name was subsequently removed form the 866 soldiers listed for posting on Tuesday.
