Tourism is a very important sector in Italy’s economy. The sector contributes about 13% of the country’s GDP, approximately 40 billion Euros.

As a result of the COVID-19 disease that plagued the country and the rest of the world causing the deaths of many, Italy shut down its economy, shutting down tourism also.

Now, as the country reopens its economy, it has also reopened its doors to tourists as it seeks to revive its crippling economy.

The opening of tourism has sparked some controversy among many. As the country borders are now reopened, the risk of importing the COVID-19 cases into the country also increases significantly.

The country has suffered significant losses from the virus outbreak and is yet to recover fully.

On the other hand, the lack of travel and tourism in the country has also crippled many businesses as the country is largely dependent on its tourism.

The reopening of the borders also gives the crippled businesses the chance to recover.

Italy has imposed some guidelines for visitors, for example, the people visiting the Colosseum must wear face masks that cover their nose and mouth, and temperatures are checked by the entrance.

The same protocol will occur at other landmarks in the country.

Italy still remains one of the most affected countries in Europe from COVID-19. Italy has confirmed 233,515 cases of COVID-19.

The country is ranked the 6th country in the world with the highest confirmed cases.

33,530 deaths have been recorded in the country from the virus and the country is ranked the third country with the highest death toll of the virus in the world.

Right now, Italy is ranked the fourth country in Europe with the highest number of confirmed cases of the virus and the second-highest death toll from COVID-19 virus on the continent.
