England cricket team is set to play three matches in the period of one 21 days in July when international summer resumes.

The first series against the West Indies will begin July 8, 16, and 24, at the Ageas Bowl and Emirates Old Trafford respectively.

The three tests will hold without spectators at bio-secure grounds.

The original start date was postponed from June 4, which featured tests at the KIA Oval, Edgbaston, and Lords, because of the global pandemic.

England and Wales cricket board ECB Director, Steve Elworthy, in a statement, said the board has been in talks with the UK government, and its medical experts, on a safe return, as the proposed dates remain subject to government approval.

The ECB gave the go-ahead to a 55-player group to return to training last week.

The ECB has also disclosed that a decision on the series against Pakistan, Ireland, and Australia will be made on a later date.

The 2020 championship season which was due to start from April 12, will now resume August 1, at its latest.
