Formula one Chief Executive, Chase Carey, has said that the rescheduled formula one season will not be canceled if a driver tested positive for COVID-19.

The originally scheduled date of F1 one would have kicked off with the Australian Grand Prix in March but was canceled when a Mclaren team member tested positive for the virus, the weekend before the opener.

Formula 1 bosses have defended their decision to continue racing, suggesting that government concerns in the countries are supportive.

Carey said the world is moving forward, as it draws closer to a post-COVID 19 period, stressing the importance of the mental, economic, and societal consequences of shutting down activities.

Formula One said it plans to race without spectators, while teams will be isolated from the larger population, to control the spread of the virus.

F1 bosses disclosed that they hope to have a finalized calendar by the end of June.
