Twelve Boko Haram terrorists were killed by the Nigerian Army troops of Operation Lafiya Dole during a clearance operation in Borno State.
This was confirmed in a statement on Thursday by Major General John Enenche.
One hundred and five women and 136 children were rescued from the terrorists by the troops of the Nigerian Army, making a total of 241 rescued captives.
During the clearance operation at Mudu town on Sunday, May 24, motorcycle, the terrorist flags, two bicycles, two sewing machines, and one amplifier were also retrieved.
He further disclosed that a prominent member of the Jihadist terrorist group identified as Malam Adamu Yahaya, AKA Saad Karami surrender to the 242 Nigerian Army Troop in Monguno.
Saad Karami led several attacks on Shetimari, Metele, Kangarwa, Mairari, and Bindiram.
On Tuesday, May 26, suicide bombers and terrorists were also killed by 51 Nigerian Army troops.
The terrorists were planning to launch an attack on the troops on 10 gun trucks in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
The Jihadist terrorist group operates in Northeast Nigeria, Mali, Northern Cameron, Chad, and Niger.
The terrorist group has left more than 2.3 million people displaced in Nigeria and killed more than 6,600 people in 2014.
