The Federal Capital Territory Administration Ministerial Task Team on the Enforcement of COVID-19 restrictions has nabbed eight persons for impersonating Army officers to flout the imperative curfew in the state.
They would be tried at the Mobile Court as confirmed by Ikharo Attah, the Chairman of the task team.
Some of those nabbed were caught drinking alcohol in bars. One of those arrested is the owner of a bar at Second Gate, Dutse-Alhaji.
He also claimed to be an army in order to escape being arrested. Another bar at Dutse Makaranta was still serving alcohol after 10:00 pm which is already the curfew time.
The owner also had claimed to be an army officer.
According to Ikharo Attah, residents in Dutse areas are adhering to the curfew compared to those in Lugbe.
Even the vehicular movement is in line with the stipulated directive. Going further, he made known that impersonation officers must stop.
“Those caught impersonating and dragging the image of the military through the mud won’t be spared,” he said.
