The COVID-19 tracing strategy that the United Kingdom intends to use to track down all contacts made by confirmed COVID-19 infected people is set to begin today, Thursday, May 28, in England and Scotland.
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, said last week that 24000 tracers have already been recruited to carry out the tracing and they hope to recruit 1000 more before the 1st of June.
The tracers will reportedly call, text, or email people who have tested positive for COVID-19 and they will be asked to identify those they’ve come in contact with and places they’ve visited.
The tracers will trace these contacts and Isolate them for the next 14 days, the incubation period for the virus.
This new strategy was introduced so that a new wave of the virus will not occur in the United Kingdom as the economy reopens.
