With immediate effect, the British women’s football league known as the Women’s Super League, WSL, has ended.

The league was brought to an end by the league organisers who now want to focus their attention to the start of a brand new season.

The club officials of the 12 WSL teams were all consulted about how best to solve the season and those suggestions will be submitted to the FA Board which will decide the most suitable sporting outcome for the 2019/20 season.

Manchester City Women currently sit at the top of the table with 40 points after 16 games but they have a slender one-point lead above Chelsea women who have 39 points with a game at hand.

At the other end of the table, Bristol City Women, Birmingham City Women and Liverpool Women all occupy the bottom 3 with 9, 7 and 6 points respectively.
