As the Lagos State government discusses the reopening of schools in the state, the government has also disclosed that the state intends to recruit no fewer than 2000 teachers in its public primary schools.
Folashade Adefisayo, Lagos State Commissioner for Education, disclosed that the state will be hiring more teachers in the public sector in order to improve the standard of education in the state.
She said that the state had already made plans to improve on the public school standard of education but the pandemic outbreak has caused a setback in the plans.
Adefisayo hinted that as soon as the lockdown measures in the state were lifted, the administration revisited the plans to recruit more teachers and the plans have now been revised.
The new plans will also allow for the recruitment of 1000 teachers in public secondary schools.
