Recent reports suggest that Chinese club, Shanghai Chenhua, have requested the services of Odion Ighalo for the start of their Super League season.

Ighalo’s current loan deal is set to expire on the 30th of May as the current Premier League season was scheduled to end in May.

Due to the outbreak of the global pandemic in England, the English Premier League was then suspended till further notice. Currently measures are being taken to restart the league but there is no set date as to when the league will resume.

It was expected that Ighalo will sign an extension to his loan deal to complete the current campaign with The Red Devils but that might not be the case as he is wanted back in China.

After rumours surfaced that Ighalo could be offered a permanent deal to remain at Old Trafford, Shanghai Chenhua then offered the 30-year-old new wages of £400,000 per week. Ighalo is now faced with either chasing his dreams of playing for more money.

The former Watford striker has had an impressive start to his Manchester United career as he has produced impressive performances from the bench against Chelsea, Burnley and Manchester City. In the games he has started in the FA Cup and Europa League, he has scored 4 goals in 3 games.

The Manchester United fans have taken to the Nigerian and even have a song for him. His teammates are very fond of him and have acknowledged his contributions to the team.

Head coach Ole Gunnar Soljskaer has spoken highly of Ighalo’s abilities and work rate.

Where would Ighalo be playing his football later this year? Only time would tell.
