Bournemouth’s 6 ft. 4 central midfielder, Philip Billing, recently set the record straight about the possibility of playing for Nigeria.

Recent reports coming from Nigerian sporting outlets suggested that the Nigerian Football Federation was on the brink of securing the services of the 23-year-old for the Super Eagles.

In a recent interview, Billing made it clear that there was no chance that he will play for Nigeria despite an approach from the NFF and Gernot Rohr back in November 2018.

He feels a hundred per cent Danish and his dream has always been to represent the Danish national team.

Billing has played for Denmark at youth level. He has represented his place of birth at U19 level and u21 level. He received his first call to the men’s senior team in March 2019 but is yet to make an appearance for The Red and White Danish Dynamite.

Billing made the switch to Bournemouth for the 2019/20 campaign after his former team, Huddersfield, suffered relegation the season before.

The fast lanky midfielder caught the eye of the football world with his impressive performances with Huddersfield in the two seasons he represented them for in the Premier League.
