Boris Johnson, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, announced that the COVID 19 tracing strategy would be ready by June 2020.
According to Johnson, the country intends to recruit 25,000 COVID 19 virus tracing staff.
The government hopes that the staff along with smartphone tracing apps will allow for large scale testing and tracing by next month.
Johnson disclosed that 24,000 tracers have already been recruited and by June they hope to recruit 1,000 more, making it 25,000.
He mentioned that the tracers would be able to locate and identify 10,000 new cases of the COVID 19 virus daily.
The United Kingdom has confirmed 248,293 cases of the COVID 19 virus and 35,704 deaths have been recorded.
