In the early hours of the 20th of May 2020, the body of 39-year-old former WWE superstar Shad Gaspar was washed to the shore by the sea on the beach in Venice, California. The former wrestler was caught up in a rip current while he went swimming with his son.
Formerly one half of Cryme Tyme alongside JTG, Gaspard went swimming with his 10-year-old son at the beach as there were other swimmers present at the site. Due to the strong currents which occurred, the swimmers were displaced within the strong wave.
The lifeguards decided to save Aryeh (Gaspard’s son) as he was the easier option due to his small size compared to his father who was six feet and over 200 pounds. While the lifeguards were contemplating the decision, Shad made it easy for them by telling them to save his son first.
After his son was safely taken to shore, while the lifeguards attempted to back in to save him, the strong waves took him away and he was not in sight of anyone at the beach anymore. His body was then discovered in the early hours of the next day.
Shad Gaspard left behind his wife, Siliana Gaspard and his son, Aryeh whom he had a very close relationship with as seen on social media. The entire world of wrestling has been shocked by the death of a former fan favourite who entertained the WWE fans for years.
