Watford defender Adrian Mariappa confirmed via social media that he is the Watford player alongside two staff members who tested positive to the deadly virus.

On Tuesday, the Premier League announced that out of the 700 plus tests that were conducted over the weekend that only six results came back positive.

The former Crystal Palace and Reading defender confirmed that he had no symptoms before the test but will now self-isolate for the next seven days and go for testing again to confirm a negative status.

This comes after the Premier League gave the go-ahead for group training sessions to commence as they progress with project restart.

Recent reports suggest that a proposed date for the Premier League to restart is the 3rd of June but that will not be possible anymore as there are several issues to address.
