kubrat-pulev challenges anthony joshua

Bulgarian heavyweight boxer Kubrat Pulev stated recently during an interview that he would not for any reason step aside for the much-anticipated bout between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua to take place.

Pulev and Joshua previously had a scheduled heavyweight title bout which was set to take place at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on the 20th of June. However, the bout was suspended indefinitely due to the ongoing global pandemic.

Since the bout between Pulev and Joshua got suspended, there have been continuous mentions from boxing critics, promoters and fans for the highly anticipated unification title match between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury which has then cast doubts on the bout between Pulev and Joshua.

However, in a recent interview, Pulev made it clear than he is not willing to let his shot at the championship slip through his fingers and neither would be willing step aside or wait to face the victor between the potential fight between Joshua and Fury.

The numbers in the UK are not encouraging although football clubs have commenced group training sessions this week there is still no set date as to when football will resume in England. Currently, no sport activity is going on in England and there is no word concerning the resumption of sports activities.

If Pulev really wants the bout to take place, an alternate venue will need to come into the picture or he will be patient till the pandemic has eased down and boxing events have been given the go-ahead by health officials to resume.

Joshua and Pulev were initially meant to go one on one in 2017 but sadly, Pulev withdrew due to an injury he sustained in preparation for the bout. The Bulgarian boxer is raring to go up against Joshua and is confident of a solid win against the British world boxing champion with Nigerian descent.
