Ogun State Police catch two robbers in the act, on the hunt for accomplice

Two suspected armed robbers identified as Evans Iyam and Adedayo Taiwo were nabbed by the Policemen in Ogun State.

As gathered, Iyam and Taiwo had robbed around Damsalam Street in the Ajuwon area before they were caught by the Police.

The Police Station around the area had received a call reporting the robbery. Iyam and Taiwo reportedly sprayed bullets in the air during their operation. The police in the Ajuwon division led by Andrew Akinseye the DPO of Ajuwon division SP drove to the scene and arrested the suspects. This was confirmed by DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO).

When the Police arrived, the suspects fled but were chased down and caught by the security agency. Iyam and Taiwo were caught while the third person escaped with the motorcycle they came with.

Taken into custody and properly interrogated, the suspected robbers confessed they came from Isasi in Lagos State to carry out the robbery.

Kenneth Ebrimson, Ogun State Commissioner of Police stated that the two suspects be transferred to Special Anti-Robbery Squads (SARS) for further investigation.
