Delta State Government says it had discharged five COVID-19 patients after they tested negative twice including the index case in the state.
Charles Aniagwu, the State Commissioner for Information, who made this known in a statement he issued in Asaba, Delta State capital, said the state has also recorded a new case, which is a fruits seller in Agbor Ika South Council Area who tested positive to the novel Coronavirus.
Aniagwu urged Delta residents to continue to adhere to the necessary steps of continuous hand washing, use of facemask and physical distancing to avert contracting the virus as the government, according to him, is trying its best to contain its further spread.
With the new case, Delta now has 23 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with eight active cases after successful discharge of 11 and four deaths.
