After being caught in the act of bribery to secure the position for the succession of the chairman to the Samsung Group, Lee Jae-Yong, the heir to the Samsung Group has offered a public apology.

Lee Jae-Yong is the son of the former chairman Lee kun-Lee and the grandson of the Samsung founder Lee Byung-Chull.

Lee Jae-Yong promised that the management control of the Samsung Group would not be passed on to his children

This would mean a break in tradition for the group because the management control of Samsung has been passed down to the heirs since the group was launched years ago.

In his apology, Lee Jae-Yong said that the company failed to meet the expectations of the society and has disappointed their loyal consumers.
He also pledged that the company will uphold the law and ethical standards going forward.

Lee Jae-Yong has previously been convicted of embezzlement, bribery, corruption and perjury in 2017 in an attempt to secure hold of the Samsung Group management.
