One dies as 34 Doctors test positive to COVID-19 in Kano State

On Tuesday, it was revealed by the Kano State Chapter of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) that 34 doctors in the state have tested positive for the COVID 19 virus.

Dr Sanusi Bala, the chairman of the association revealed that one of the doctors confirmed to have the COVID 19 virus has died.

The chairman also disclosed that most of the infected doctors were working at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) and some in private hospitals within the state.

The chairman has made an appeal to the government to provide the healthcare workers with adequate protective gears to protect themselves from the highly contagious COVID-19 virus while they’re dealing with patients.

Mrs Hauwa Muhammad a spokeswoman for the AKTH, however, disclosed that the hospital has already provided the healthcare workers with adequate protective gears and the hospital management is working on training their staffs to use the protective gears properly.
