Nigerian Passport

Muhammad Babandede, the comptroller general of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has ordered the passport offices around the country to release the processed passport of applicants. The statement released by the immigration service also mentioned that the passport offices should take advantage of the gradual easing of the lockdown.

During the lockdown, Muhammad Babandede directed all passport offices across the country to clear all passport backlogs for applicants who enrolled for immediate issuance when the Nationwide lockdown ended.

The NIS has advised applicants to follow the social distancing guidelines issued by the NCDC, Wearing of face masks, washing of hands, and the use of hand sanitizer when they come to collect their passports.

Applicants will be notified in batches through SMS and any applicants who show up at the passport office without any proof of this notification will not be granted access into the premises. The applicants must also show up on the day scheduled on the notification or they will not receive their passport.
