The Taraba State Taskforce Committee on COVID-19 says the state will not accommodate 100 Almajiris relocated to the State from Nasarawa State due to failure to meet the criteria agreed on by the Northern Governors Forum.

Task Force Chairman, Innocent Vakkai, also said that the COVID-19 patient that absconded from the State’s isolation facility has been tracked and returned into care.

Taraba State COVID-19 Taskforce said that the rejection of the 100 Almajiris from Nasarawa State is due to the inability to test them for COVID-19 in their state of residence, and their status declared negative before returning them to their state of origin.

The  Taskforce also said it has found Talatu Idris, the Covid-19 patient that ran away from the State’s isolation facility, and she has been returned to continue treatment.

Also, over 100 returnees quarantined in the State’s isolation facility have been allowed to reunite with their families, after completing the 14 days isolation period.

The Covid-19 Task Force reiterated that the Taraba State Government has not eased the lockdown in the State, and charged citizens to abide by the  lockdown arrangements.
