In Kenya, 15 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and also discharged. Currently, the number of infected cases in Kenya is 167, two patients were recently lost to coronavirus which upped their death poll to 24. This was disclosed by Rashid Aman the country’s Health Chief Administrative Secretary.
Aman made known on Sunday, May 3rd that the two dead patients were from Mombasa. In the same breath, he announced that 30 new cases were confirmed in Nairobi, Kitui Bungoma, and Mombasa. Two of these patients are truck drivers from Bungoma. The national government already increased mass testing.
Truck drivers who help people commute within the country and from neighbouring East African countries. Aman urges Kenyans especially those in Kawangware to come out and get tested following the low number of people who came out on Sunday willing to take the test. He further stated that if the country seeks to flatten the infection cycle, as many people as possible need to get tested.
In Eastleigh and Kawangware, health officials went out to get 5000 individuals tested. However, 1,297 were tested by Sunday. The country currently as 465 confirmed cases of the virus.
