Popular Author J. K. Rowling has pledged $1.25 million (£1 million) in order to mark the 22nd anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts. 22 years ago, the author released the final Harry Potter book “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”.
The British author revealed via her twitter that she would be the donation to help homeless people and victims of domestic violence.
The donation of £1m would be split in two – half will go to those helping the homeless during the pandemic – https://crisis.org.uk, and the other half goes to those that help victims of domestic abuse- https://refuge.org.uk.
Rowling, 54, previously admitted to her fans that she had battled the virus as she had ”symptoms” of COVID-19. The author has reportedly recovered from health condition.
