Bayelsa Govt. Extends Partial Lockdown By 7 days

The Bayelsa State Government has extended its partial lockdown by one week effective from Tuesday, May 5, 2020.

This time, worship centres can open its doors with a limit of 50 persons and 20 worshippers for large and small congregations respectively.

Governor Douye Diri, who gave the order at a meeting of the state’s Task Force on COVID-19 on Monday, also reinforced the stay-at-order from 8 pm to 6 am each day.

The compulsory use of facemask in public places was another added measure taken by the state government to avoid further spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

With five cases recorded so far in the state, the state government said it is not resting on its oars as its primary objective is to avert the spread of the COVID-19 by every means possible.
