Two House of Representatives members in the United States have raised a motion against returning the looted $320 million funds which was signed off and expected to be returned to Nigeria before the Coronavirus pandemic broke out.
The duo, identified as Steve Chabot and Chris Smith, has raised concerns regarding freedom of speech, religion and disregard for the rule of law as major impediments violating some conditions to which the funds should be reimbursed.
International human rights groups such as the Amnesty International, the International Organisation for Peace Building and Social Justice were referenced in this petition and as such, the US Government should employ all tools to ensure perpetrators of such crimes were brought to book.
