Nigerians protest online over ‘NCDC Bill’ which mysteriously passed second reading

Nigerians have expressed The House of Representatives has passed for the second reading a bill for an act to repeal the quarantine Act 2004.

The bill which was sponsored by Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila at the floor of the House during its emergency plenary saw lawmakers debate on the need to repeal the act and enact a new bill expected to make provisions relating to quarantine, prevention and control of the spread of dangerous infectious diseases and other related matters

The new bill will also empower the National Centre for Disease Control NCDC to perform its functions effectively and without hindrance.
