Cross River State Government says it will not hesitate to quarantine any official sent by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, to administer test on its citizens for 14 days.
This is inline with the preventive measures put in place to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
The State Chairman of COVID-19 Taskforce and Commissioner for Health, Dr Beta Edu, stated this in Calabar, Wednesday during a briefing with Journalists.
Edu said that Cross River should be commended for its efforts and not castigated for not recording any COVID-19 case .
The Commissioner said it is only after they get their satisfactory result after fourteen days that they will be allowed entrance into the state, explaining that Cross River State has worked so hard to contain the deadly disease.
Edu also alleged that the NCDC officials are sponsoring people through text message asking Cross River citizens to claim to be C0VID-19 infected.
The Chairman of the Taskforce said instead of the state to be commended for its effort, Cross River has been pressured to announce the recording case of the pandemic by all means which she described as unfortunate.
