Kaduna workers embark on Strike as Government prepares to downsize Civil Service

The Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, Kaduna State Chapter has expressed displeasure over the deduction of 25% from salaries of health workers in the State for the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.

Chairman of the NMA, Dr. Stephen Kache, said such move by the State Government will only demotivate health workers who are working hard to fight the pandemic.

The NMA Chairman said contributing towards the fight against COVID-19 should be voluntary rather than imposing it on the workers.

The NMA said this is the time to encourage health workers to do more and not to discourage them.
