British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson returns to Downing Street after stint with COVID-19

Boris Johnson has finally resumed office after his battle with COVID-19, during this period, Dominic Raab has been serving in his place in his absence alongside Sunak, Hancock and Michael Gove. Johnson who was not totally absent spent his isolatory period communicating with the global community via video conferencing whilst receiving treatment.

Upon his arrival, Johnson will address the growing concerns concerning lifting the COVID-19 restrictions, the lockdown is expected to be reviewed by May 7. He will also address measures put in place to ensure that the second phase of the crisis is effectively managed and also address the growing concerns regarding health workers not having enough personal protective equipment and the inefficiency in testing.

Also awaiting Boris’ attention will be the Brexit impasse. The EU and the UK have both traded blames for the seeming lack of progress. Johnson will be expected to continue the negotiations and decide whether an extension should be sought or not by June
