In the fight against Covid-19, the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has converted the 80-bed Mother and Child Referral hospital at the Bayelsa Medical University, into a temporary Coronavirus isolation center.

The Governor said the conversion, was aimed at tackling the dreaded disease, and not an attempt to deny the people of the State of other health services.

The Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri houses the state isolation centre for the containment of possible outbreak of COVID-19.

Governor Diri explains that the addition of the 80- bed isolation facility at the Bayelsa Medical University is yet another boost to the fight against the virus.

He also reinforced the lockdown of interstate movement and extended the dusk to dawn curfew imposed on the State with movements restricted for 12 hours from 7 pm each day.
